EXAKT Band Systems

EXACT now offers two band systems. The EXAKT 300 is the original band system developed by EXAKT for preparing small samples of unbedded hard tissue (undecalcified bone) and hard tissue with implanted ceramics and/or metals.

The challenge was to design a system that was capble of cutting through soft tissues like muscles or bone marrow, hard materials like titanium and brittle materials like dental enamel and decalcified bone without damaging any of the materials or, most importantly, disrupting the interface between the different substances. The first application was in dental research, but within the orthopaedic research community there also existed a need to cut the same types of samples but on a larger scale. Out of that evolved the EXAKT 310.

EXAKT EXAKT 520 Light Polymerization Unit

The EXAKT Light Polymerization Unit has been designed to enhance the embedding of specimens for medical research as well as to meet the needs for industrial applications.

The small, convenient unit offers the user the following advantages:

• Greater flexibility in specimen thickness
• Minimal thermal impact on tissue
• Maintenance of temperature below 40ºC during polymerization of specimens (up to 16mm in thickness)
• Stable polymerization of resin with a high degree of hardness
• Minimal formation of bubbles and cracks

EXAKT 400 CS & 420 CL Grinding Systems

Since the mid 80's EXAKT has manufactured the EXAKT 400 CS Micro Grinding System. With the addition of the AW10 and more recently the AW110 Electronic Measuring & Control Systems the EXAKT 400 CS has become the standard by which all speciality grinders for laboratory use are measured.

For the past several years EXAKT has focused on improving high-precision cutting technology. Technoligical advances have been achieved in reducing the size of the contact area betweeen the cutting tool and the sample surface. The result is a significant reduction in required cutting force and dramatic improvement in the resulting cut surface. The basic principle has now been incorporated into EXAKT's grinding technology with the addition of the EXAKT 420 CL Precision Grinding System. The standard for high-precision, plane-parallel grinding of samples containing multiple materials of varying hardness has now risen to a new level.
